Macii, care infloresc de cateva saptamani bune in gradina, sunt o bucurie in fiecare an: culoarea lor aprinsa iti atrage rapid privirea.

Avem multi maci in gradina, si daca va doriti si voi, sfatul meu, pentru ca a functionat la noi, este sa cumparati seminte si sa semanati. Am avut si doua plante de-a gata, maci galbeni si portocalii, dar nu au rezistat decat o vara. In schimb, cei rosii de acum sunt urmasii semintelor de acum trei ani, daca nu ma insel. Pe internet o sa gasiti informatii destule, printre altele am citit ca macii nu revin de obicei in fix acelasi loc, dar la noi revin si in acelasi loc, si in multe locuri noi. In fiecare primavara ma bucur cand descopar frunzitele foarte usor de recunoscut… vedeti si voi de ce!

Macii dau un aer salbatic gradinii, pentru ca pot sa apara pe neasteptat printre alte plante. Ceea ce mie imi place 🙂

Poppies, blooming in the garden already for a few weeks now, are a delight every year: their bright colour catches your eye immediately.

We have lots of poppies in the garden, and if you’d love to have poppies as well here is my advice, because it worked for us: buy seeds and sow them. We’ve had also plants bought as such, yellow and orange poppies, but they didn’t last more than a summer. But the red ones we have now are the descendants of the seeds sown three years ago, if I’m not mistaking. On the internet you’ll find enough information, among others I read that poppies often don’t come back on the same spot, but in our garden they do and also on many new spots. Each spring I’m happy to find their very distinctive leaves… you can see why!

Poppies give a wild aspect to the garden, because they can appear unexpectedly among other plants. Which I like 🙂
